Objectives Include:
-Participants will learn and practice at least three adaptive coping mechanisms and self-care strategies that specifically address both substance use triggers and trauma responses, promoting increased emotional regulation and a greater sense of internal safety.
-Participants will gain a greater understanding of the principles of post-traumatic growth and identify at least one personal strength or area of resilience that has emerged through their past experiences with clients who are healing from substance use and trauma, fostering a sense of hope and agency in their ongoing recovery.

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20250088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20250018) for LADC and CADC license holders (3 hours specific CEs), and for Oklahoma case managers.

Lisa King, MS, NCC, LPC
Lisa King has spent more than 25 years, having lived, taught, counseled, served and worked, with individuals from all walks of life in North America, Latin America, and Asia. Areas of specialization include: trauma, codependency, identity, abuse, neglect, poverty, suicidal thoughts and addiction. From these experiences, Lisa has acquired skills in effective communication, personal and professional development, team building, strategic planning and crisis management.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She is passionate about utilizing CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) to challenge stuck points and faulty ways of thinking and to help people find and experience transformational healing and hope.
Lisa co-facilitated in Santé Center for Healing’s inaugural series of therapeutic intensives – Recovering from Trauma and Recovering from Codependency. Lisa went on to write, create and facilitate the 4-day Therapy Intensive Workshops at Santé – Mindful Transformation: Redefining your Trauma and Free To Be Me: Rescuing Yourself From Codependency.
Utilizing a collaborative approach, Lisa encourages individuals to identify problematic patterns of thinking and to begin establishing coping strategies that encourage personal growth and self-care. When not writing or speaking, Lisa provides individual therapy services in the Community Based Services Clinic at Santé Center for Healing as well.
