This workshop is designed to educate clinicians on the topic of insomnia and any accompanying anxiety by empowering them with practical techniques. These tools can be implemented when encountering even some of the most severe cases. Dr. Kolzet outlines evidence-based practices and also offers guidance on how to modify these practices based on real-world limitations that come up in private practice.

Objectives include:

1. Identify the diagnostic prototype for patients struggling with chronic insomnia.
2. Describe the patients most appropriate for CBT-I.
3. Name three components of CBT-I

This course meets criteria for 3 hours of general continuing education by the Oklahoma Board of Behavioral Health for Oklahoma LPC and LMFT license holders, by the Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers (provider #20240088) for Oklahoma LCSW license holders, by the Oklahoma Board of Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors (certificate #20250018) for LADC and CADC license holders, and for Oklahoma case managers (3 hours strength-based CEs).

Dr. Julie Kolzet, PhD

    Dr. Julie Kolzet, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and behavioral sleep medicine specialist. She has approximately 21 years of experience learning, practicing, and teaching in New York City. Dr. Kolzet received a MA in Counseling and Guidance for College and Community Agencies from NYU and a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a Health Emphasis from Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Her private psychotherapy and behavioral medicine practice specializes in the treatment of anxiety, low mood, and sleep disorders. As a health psychologist, Dr. Kolzet focuses on how biology, psychology, behavior and social factors influence health and illness. Her approach is an integrative blend rooted in cognitive behavioral and humanistic.
